Today in ESS, we played the game ‘Werewolf’! A social deduction game where villagers must discover who the werewolves are, and werewolves must eat all the villagers without being discovered. This was only the second club meeting of ESS this academic year, but we had 16 students come. A record amount! Because of that, the game was very hectic, yet fun! 

At first, students were carefree. Even when their friends got eaten, they laughed and joked about it. But, as the game carried on, students gradually grew suspicious of one another. They began to lie, accuse others, and testify for their innocence, all while seeking out who the werewolves were. Werewolves were able to emerge victorious for both games, however the villagers got better and closer with each round.

Students also introduced themselves in English, and got to meet 3 of their 2nd year upper classmates. 

We ALTs hope students continue to come to English Club to play games, share cultures, and study English! The next ESS Club meeting will be held on May 11th. Please come and join us on the 4th floor! See you!

今日芸術部（ESS）で人狼というゲームをしました。このゲームでは、「村人」になったプレイヤーが「人狼」を退治すると村人の勝利、または、人狼が全ての村人を食べてしまうと人狼の勝利となります。今年度２回目のESSの活動でしたが、体験入部も含め、近年で最多の16人の生徒が参加してくれました。大人数で行うゲームの司会は難しかったですが、とても楽しかったです。

最初は友達が食べられても笑って冗談を言っていた生徒たちですが、だんだんお互いに怪しみ出すようになります。誰が「人狼」か分かっているのにわざと無実の人を責めたり、噓をついたり、まるで自分が無罪であるかのような証言をし始めました。ゲームでは２回連続人狼が勝ちましたが、回数を重ねるにつれて「村人」がより上手にゲームを進め、もう少しで勝ちそうなところまでいきました。

今回の活動では、生徒たちは英語で上手に自己紹介をして、１・２年生がとてもいい雰囲気で活動ができました。ゲームの説明や進行は全て英語でしたが、分からないときはお互い助け合いながら楽しく活動ができてとても良かったです。

天草高校には２名のALTが在籍しています。私たちは生徒がゲームを通して英語や多文化を学んだり、英語でチャレンジしてくれることを願っています。次の活動は５月11日を予定しています。是非また４階のESS部室に来てください。お待ちしています！
