This semester, the 2nd graders have worked very hard on five different performance tests—wow!  First, they completed a parliamentary debate test where they discussed and defended their opinions on topics such as “All students must study English in school.” Then, each student practiced for and completed an Eiken Grade 2 interview test. After that, they took part in a group discussion about which of four fictional candidates they would choose for city council.

Now, they are working on two more performance assessments. In Logic and Expression, students are preparing to present their SSH research projects in English. For this assignment, they must make a slide and memorize a two-minute speech, which is quite a challenge! In English Communication, students are working in groups to create a Friendship skit based on the Kumamoto English Skit Contest guidelines. They have come up with many cute and creative ideas.

まず「学校では全ての生徒が英語を学ぶべき」といったテーマについて

次に全員が英検2級の面接試験に向けて練習し受験しました。

その後、架空の4人の候補者の中から市議会議員に選ぶ人物についてグループ討論を行いました。

現在、さらに2つのパフォーマンス評価に取り組んでいます。

論理・表現の授業では、SSHの探究テーマを英語で発表する準備を進めています。

この課題ではスライドを作成し、2分間のスピーチを暗記しなければならず、かなりの挑戦です！

英語コミュニケーションの授業では、熊本英語スキットコンテストのガイドラインに基づき、

グループで「友情」をテーマにしたスキット（寸劇）を作成中です。

生徒たちは可愛らしく創造的なアイデアを数多く考案しています。
