The history and tradition of Uto Junior and Senior High School began with the founding of the original Uto Junior High School in May of 1920. However, the school was soon changed and renamed Uto Senior High School and the general education course was implemented.

　In 2009 Uto Junior and Senior High School was reopened as one of the first unified secondary schools in the prefecture, and carries an important role in the secondary education. Also, a new high school plan was put in place, having six classes in the first year of students for the start of the 2011 school year.

Keeping that in mind, every staff member works hard to make a school with a presence that incoming elementary and junior high school students are attracted to.

School Objectives
We aim to fulfill our role as a renewed unified secondary school and as the center of high ranked schools in the local area. Also, we aim to be a school which equips students with the intelligence and sensitivity necessary to become future leaders by instructing them in the basics of both academia and sports.

Students should come away from their six years of continuous education with big dreams and aspirations for their future. In order to make this a reality, we encourage the pursuit of knowledge as well as students carving out their own path in life. We aim to prepare students for an ever changing world where they can contribute as internationalized members of society.
